Leadership of Curriculum, Closing the Gap and Maths My name is Deborah Haworth and I am St Mary's Teaching School Alliance Deputy Principal and Deputy Head Teacher at St Mary's Primary School. I am a Specialist Leader of Education, specialising in mathematics, curriculum leadership and closing the gap. I was a solicitor in private practise and Chair Governors of a north London primary school before training as a primary school teacher 15 years ago. I have worked in a variety of settings, including the secondary sector, and have been a senior leader for the past 10 years. I am passionate about increasing the life chances of all children through the high-quality training of teachers, and providing CPD and support for schools. I have also worked as a consultant in primary and secondary schools and I currently lead on NQT, NPQML and NPQSL training at the Teaching School, as well as doing out-reach work to support other schools both locally and nationally. |

Julie has worked in education for countless (26) years, working in teaching and leadership roles. Currently, she is a Deputy Head Teacher with responsibility for Literacy and Reading across three schools, leading INSET, developing the curriculum and ensuring high-quality standards of teaching and learning. She has also provided training in schools within the borough, in areas such as Raising standards in writing, Planning for high quality Reading and Benchmarking. In her SLE role, Julie has liaised with literacy leaders and led training in schools around the country, providing feedback and reports based on lesson observations, book looks, curriculum and environment. |

Rochelle is the EYFS lead at St Margaret’s C of E Primary School in Barking, where she has had a strong impact on raising standards within teaching, learning and behaviour. Her knowledge and expertise in EYFS has developed this provision. A recent Ofsted report commented: She has held a variety of leadership roles in her career. From 2016-2017, she was the lead teacher of a nursery school at in Tower Hamlets and prior to that she was the Key Stage 1 Phase Leader at a school in Islington. As the current lead of Reception and Nursery, she has the practical knowledge to hand that will support settings with a variety of ideas to improve outcomes for children. |

Iram has been working as a senior leader in outstanding schools for over 6 years. She completed her NPQH in 2016 and is currently working on her MA.Ed on Leadership. Iram is an experienced leader in education and is a Coach for the Women in Leadership initiative with the Teaching Schools Council (TSC). As a headteacher of an Outstanding school, Iram is equipped with the skills and experience necessary to support and collaborate with leaders at a national level. Iram is also a facilitator for the National Professional Qualifications for leaders with UCL, Institute of Education. Iram has collaborated with numerous schools across the country and internationally with bespoke and tailored support. |

Alice is an Assistant Headteacher of a school in Tower Hamlets, working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds who enter EYFS below age related expectation. She has responsibility for Early Years and Phonics, and her team has ensured that the children make accelerated progress which has resulted in 72% of children achieving a Good Level of Development and 88% of children achieving a pass in the Phonics Screening Check. Alice has managed the establishment and delivery of a well-planned, coherent curriculum which ensured that teaching, learning and assessment were highly effective. This was recognised in a recent Ofsted. Ofsted report July 2018 |

Katie has had a varied and far reaching career in teaching and education both in mainstream and special schools. She managed a provision for children with autism and went on to work in a provision for the deaf. As a deputy head, Katie was instrumental in driving up standards at a London pupil referral unit and social, emotional and mental health provision, graded outstanding from Ofsted. Katie is motivated to change children's stories and is trained in the Solihull approach. In recent years, Katie was the executive lead in a Key Stage 2 nurture group pilot in a London borough, which saw some of the most vulnerable children transform their behaviour and successfully integrate back into mainstream school. Katie's dedication to children and young people's positive outcomes has meant that she has been recognised for her outstanding work and she is now co director of Magic Behaviour Management Ltd. |
Marie |
Marie has had a long standing successful career in education, both in mainstream and special schools and has significant teaching and leadership experience in her field. Marie's leadership was key in driving up standards at a London pupil referral unit and social, emotional and mental health provision, twice achieving outstanding from Ofsted. Marie is passionate about matching a holistic developmental approach with uncompromising high expectations for children's academic success. In recent years, Marie has led preventative mainstream projects to reduce exclusions and has represented national best practice for the Department for Education and is now a government behaviour advisor. She also has close links with the charity The Difference. Marie has gone on to make her mark in changing the way we see and manage behaviour in our schools and homes and is now co director of Magic Behaviour Management Ltd. |
