Leann Valiquette 

My name is Leann Valiquette and I am St Mary's Teaching School Alliance Principal. I have worked in education for over 10 years and in that time have managed to teach in every year group from Nursery to Year 8! I now lead two private nurseries, the Teaching School, a successful Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF) project, KS1 moderation and support learning and teaching across Genesis Education Trust. I am a Specialist Leader Of Education and aspire to be a National Leader in time. My vision for the Teaching School is to be outward facing, collaborative and creative in our approach to support the Education sector.   

Elisha Brett

My name is Elisha Brett I am employed by London Borough of Waltham Forest as an Early Years Improvement Consultant. I have worked in Early Years for 20 years. I believe that all children and young people deserve the best care and education. I am driven by my desire to improve the life chances of those children who come from ‘disadvantaged’ background. I consider that one of my strengths as an Early Years Improvement Consultant is inspiring and motivating Early Years practitioners to deliver the highest quality care and education which not only keeps children safe but also maximises their potential.

Deborah Haworth

My name is Deborah Haworth and I am St Mary's Teaching School Alliance Deputy Principal and Deputy Head Teacher at St Mary's Primary School. I am a Specialist Leader of Education, specialising in mathematics, curriculum leadership and closing the gap. I was a solicitor in private practise and Chair Governors of a north London primary school before training as a primary school teacher 15 years ago. I have worked in a variety of settings, including the secondary sector, and has been a senior leader for the past 10 years. I am passionate about increasing the life chances of children through training and support of teachers and schools.  I have also worked as a consultant in primary and secondary schools and I currently lead on NQT, NPQML and NPQSL training at the Teaching School.

Emma Cherry

My name is Emma Cherry and I am an Assistant Head Teacher for Genesis Education Trust. I have worked in education for 7 years and I have taught both KS1 and KS2. As a specialist in Teaching and Learning, I coach, facilitate and support the teaching staff across our multi academy trust.  Using these skills, I also lead the School Direct Initial Teacher Training Programme; training and developing aspiring teachers. I believe that education should engage, inspire and motivate children to adopt a love for learning and that all children should be provided with opportunities to reach their potential.​

Sue Dixon 

I am Head of Teacher Education (CPD) and Head of Goldsmiths Teachers’ Centre at Goldsmiths, University of London. I have been involved in teaching for more than a quarter of a decade. I am foundation governor at St James, Hatcham Primary School in Lewisham. In my spare time I am a group facilitator of a Eating Disorders Support Group for adults. I am researching the impact of such groups as part of my Part Time PhD.

Iftakhar Latif 

My name is Iftakhar Latif and I am a Parent Governor sitting on the Governing Body of the Federated St Mary’s and St Saviour’s CofE Primary Schools. My professional background was in Risk Management in the Actuarial profession for over 20 years. I am now involved in community work within Waltham Forest and a presiding Justice of the Peace in the East London Local Justice Area. I am motivated by the desire that all children should be given the best start in life, through education taught by the best and most inspiring teachers and by sharing best practices and innovative approaches, we can raise the standards for teaching of all children, everywhere.
